Salisbury Mansion - our third collaboration with Worcester Historical Museum - is an English-Style Old Ale brewed with molasses and aged on American oak. Strong aroma of oaky vanilla and toffee, with hints of cocoa and raisin. Medium bodied with rich caramel and brown sugar flavor.
This beer celebrates the 250th anniversary of the construction of Salisbury Mansion. The mansion was built for Stephen Salisbury in 1772 as a combination house and store. Today, it is the largest artifact in Worcester Historical Museum’s collection.
As an English-Style Old Ale, Salisbury Mansion represents a style of beer that would have been enjoyed during the late 18th century, and the addition of molasses reflects early American brewing traditions, as well as the popularity of rum, which Salisbury was known to enjoy.
